Churches Pray For Students Going Back-To-School

Christian denominations around the country held farewell church services for students who were going to start the new school year tomorrow.
Nadera Methodist Circuit Church in Nasinu was also part of the programme as the students sang along with the choir as they expressed the joy of going back to school.
Among students was, five-year-old Josua Tuqase who was filled with excitement as he was to attend Ramla Khan Kindergarten this year.
Circuit chaplain Reverend Ilisavani Bosekoviti said the church service was an important one.
“This is a church service where we will give out blessings to our children; those that are going back to school; we hope that this church service will be blessing for all of you as we are going to start another school year.
“We pray that God will help us get through the challenges ahead; let’s make God’s word a light that will help direct our paths this year,” he said.
The St Joseph the Worker Parish in Tamavua was also part of Christian Denominations farewelling students.
St Joseph’s Secondary School student, 15-year-old Sainimere Kurumaira of Namadi said she aimed to pass her exams with flying colours this year to make her parents proud.
“It is a good start to another school year and I hope that through my spiritual upbringing and parents support, I will be able to make this academic year a successful one,” she said. Edited by Jonathan Bryce
