A Year Older In His  Walk With God

The Methodist Church of Fiji head office yesterday celebrated their longest serving member, Reverend Pauliasi Vatanitawake’s birthday in style.

Reverend Vatanitawake 86, was surrounded by his friends and families as he shared his walk with the Lord for the past 50 years.

He said the most important lesson that he learned in life was his walk with the Lord have been fruitful.

Reverend Vatanitawake still reads without his glasses and is currently working on sharing the word of God in the streets of Suva.

He is originally from Namara Village, Sanima in Kadavu.

He was married to Vaciseva Adimaiwasa Vatanitawake for over 50 years before she passed away in 2013 and he lives in his home in Matanikorovatu road, Makoi.

He has seven children, 35 grand children and nine great-grand children.

His grandson, Manasa Vatanitawake who is a youth worker at the Pacific Conference of Churches said: “My grandfather still preaches every Sunday even though he retired 15 years ago.

“He lived a long life because of his ultimate faith and dependent in God’s grace through prayers, daily exercise at his plantation. He eats a reasonable amount of food and takes care of his health and he doesn’t drink too much kava,’ he said.

His family in Fiji wished him well and many more years of good health.

The Meke family in Wellington, New Zealand, Peni and Daiana in Nauru also thought of him on his birthday and wished him well.
