State prosecutors in an alleged murder case asked the court yesterday to give them two weeks to file information on disclosures served.

The disclosures served concerns two women accused of murder.

Sundar Kaur, 48, and Geeta Devi, 28, are charged with one count of murder each. Devi is also charged with one count of providing false information to a public servant. Legal Aid lawyer Salote Nasedra is representing the accused.

They appeared in the High Court in Lautoka before Justice Aruna Aluthge.

Kaur is alleged to have murdered her 14-year-old daughter, Sanjani Lata, who was also known as ‘Mona’.

The alleged incident happened at Kulukulu, Sigatoka, on November 1, last year. It is alleged that Devi told a Police officer that Lata had been missing since noon of November 1 despite knowing that the information she gave was false.

The court also heard that Kaur was on bail and Devi was still in remand.

Justice Aluthge has ordered for the matter to be called on February 2 for mention. Edited by Naisa Koroi
