Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama will be commissioning 16 community development projects in the Western Division worth more than $600,000.

At the heads of departments meeting in Lautoka yesterday, Commissioner Western Manasa Tagicakibau emphasised that these development projects are expected to improve the lives of all Fijians ranging from water projects, schools upgrade, and culvert crossings.

“The meeting of department heads today (yesterday) is purely to take back some feedback from Government and also ensure communication is clear,” he said.

Mr Tagicakibau said it was important that stakeholders adhered to the Governments vision.

“Government has committed itself to reforms and the directive from the Prime Minister was that he wants all heads of departments to attend the tour to respond to the public’s queries,” he said.

“The Prime Minister will want to speak with the people to know what’s happening and will be reviewing the Western Division’s sugar sector.”

Prime Minister Bainimarama will also be officiating at the closing of the Policy Dialogue workshop for parliamentarians and will be handing out lease grants in Nadovi, Settlement, Cuvu, Nadroga as well as the handing out of the Tuvatu mining lease in Sabeto.

Mr Bainimarama will be conducting his Western Division tour next week from January 25-29.
