Navua will be declared a town next month, says Minister for Local Government, Housing, Environment, Infrastructure and Transport, Parveen Kumar.
Mr Kumar said to declare any district town, certain processes are required and they needed to have a local government committee which the ministry has now got in place.
“I am happy to say that the local government committee has done the process that was required by them and by mid of next month we will declare Navua as a town,” he said.
Meanwhile, Mr Kumar has confirmed that Nadi would be declared a city next year.
