Fijian Speaker to Parliament Dr Jiko Luveni thanked the executive committee at the final plenary session of the 24th Asia-Pacific Parliamentary Forum in Vancouver, Canada for choosing Fiji to be the host of the 25th APPF to be held in January 2017.

She acknowledged the confidence shown and was also thankful that support will be provided to prepare for such a high-level forum.

“Hosting visitors to our shores is something we take pride in. We are no strangers to hosting international and regional meetings and I am sure Fiji will again step up to this challenge to showcase its world renown brand of hospitality to you all,” Dr Luveni said.

She took the opportunity to invite members of the APPF to attend the next Forum as most of them have always expressed their wish to visit Fiji.

“I am overwhelmed by the number of delegates whom I meet at international meetings who have expressed their wish to visit Fiji. Well, next year is your chance to make that dream a reality.”

Dr. Luveni was accompanied by Opposition MP Mikaele Leawere and Government MP Alexander O’Connor.
