Thorpe Resigns

Fiji Rugby Union general manager Tony Thorpe resigned last week.
Thorpe, who has been with FRU for the last six months, will serve his remaining two months before he moves on.
When asked about the reason for his resignation, Thorpe declined to comment.
“I resigned last week Monday but I do not want to divulge the reason for my resignation just yet,” Thorpe said.
“I’ve two months left. I’ve not got anything at the moment but I will be looking for something when I eventually Rugby House.
“I am happy to have served my term.”
Thorpe previously served as a team manager for the Crusaders (2004-2011), All Blacks (2002-2003), Hurricanes U23 (2002), Hurricanes U21 (2000-2001), Poverty Bay (2002) and also served as a team director for Brumbies (201-2014).
Not only has he been involved in administration work but has also played rugby for Poverty Bay (1987-89), Canterbury (1982-1986), NZ Divisional XV (1990), NZ Juniors (1984), NZ Emerging Players (1986), NZ Sevens (1984) and Reserve for All Blacks (1986).
His resignation comes two months after former FRU chief executive officer Radrodro Tabualevu handed in his resignation in November last year.
Tabualevu tendered in his resignation on November 9 because of “personal reasons.”
