Tuning Up For 7s

The Vodafone Fijian 7s team got a gift yesterday to remind them of home as they prepare to depart today for World Sevens Series next stop in Wellington this weekend.
Dragon Music donated a Yamaha acoustic guitar and Mahalo Fiji flag Ukulele.
Vodafone Fijian 7s manager Ropate Kauvesi said the guitar was something the players look forward to playing when they are away from home.
“Having the guitars and ukulele is a really good thing for the boys because not only does it make them feel a little closer to home when they travel, but they enjoy singing,” Kauvesi said.
“We have some really good guitar players like Osea Kolinisau, Semi Kunatani and Savenaca Rawaca.
“Not only do we have good players but we have good singers as well in physiotherapist William Kwoong who loves singing and usually the lead singer.
“It’s a good way to bring the boys together after a hard day of training or after a game or anywhere really when they are travelling.”
Meanwhile, Dragon Music manager Veti Vosa said this was their way of supporting the team.
“Music is a great thing and as Fijians, that is one thing that we love and what makes us happy and we want to share that with our 7s team,” Vosa said.
“When the team is waiting at the airport for their flights, they can pass the time by playing the guitar and sing a song.
“We wish them all the best in Wellington and Sydney next week.”
The team had two hard training sessions yesterday.
