The acting Commissioner of Police, Brigadier- General Sitiveni Qiliho have confirmed submitting his application for the post, Commissioner of Police.

Brigadier- General Qiliho had expressed his interest for the post earlier on. He has submitted his application and aims to lead the force into a new direction.

He has been acting on the position since November, following the resignation of former Police Commissioner, Bernadus  Groenewald.

“Leading the force through the festive season was a great challenge; to ensure that we went through the period safely, and we did,” Brigadier- General Qiliho said.

He also highlighted the welfare of Police officers, this includes the unpaid hours to special constables, which will come in their next pay.

“I also requested for an allowance adjustment after the Evaluation Exercise and this was approved as well.

“With regards to the mobility assets of Police, we had a discussion with the Minister of Finance and were given 70 brand new vehicles and 40 other vehicles from Asco Motors that was previously leased by Government,” Brigadier- General Qiliho said.
