Fiji shares her skills with Pacific neighbours as part of engaging with the region, says the Minister for Employment, Productivity and Industrial Relations, Semi Koroilavesau.

He made the comment during the farewell of Fijian volunteer teachers to Nauru and Tuvalu in Suva yesterday.

“The Fijian Government supports the development of our neighbouring countries,  in their human resource needs,” he said.

The seven volunteer teachers, under the Fiji Volunteer Service, depart for Nauru and Tuvalu late this week and earlier next week respectively. They will teach for two years.

Mr Koroilavesau said Fiji had sufficient and proven capacity in areas of education, public administration, disaster management, peacekeeping, social protection and environment.

“The governments of Nauru and Tuvalu greatly acknowledge the work of the Fijian volunteers and have requested for more, he said.
