2 In Custody After Drug Bust

Two people are in Police custody and a woman has been released after they were brought in for questioning for three separate incidents of drugs.

The first incident saw the Drugs Operation team of Valelevu raiding a house belonging to a 40-year-old taxi driver of Kinoya and seizing sachets of dry leaves believed to be marijuana.

The suspect is in custody and is expected to be questioned soon while the sachets of dry leaves are being analysed.

In the second incident, Police raided the house of a 52-year-old caretaker of Nabua who was also found with sachets of dry leaves – also believed to be marijuana. The suspect is in custody, and is expected to be questioned soon while the dry leaves have been sent analysis.

The third incident saw the house of a 37-year-old businesswoman of Korovou being raided by the Drugs Operation team. Sachets of dry leaves believed to be marijuana were also seized. The woman has been questioned and released while the dry leaves are being analysed.

Police are  again warning the general public against the use of illicit drugs.

Police will continue with its raid and those caught on the wrong side of the law will be dealt with accordingly.
