The Holden Statesman surely has a class of its own and indeed there are a very few people in Fiji who own it. After all, this vehicle is not for everyone.

For Adrian Michael, the managing director of LB Master’s Commercial Engravers and Signs, his Holden Statesman has definitely been a head turner whenever he drives it.

Although not for daily use, he has owned his Holden Statesman for six years and has been slowly working on his car stage by stage.

But he describes the vehicles as having a class of its own.

“To have speed, comfort, space, fuel economy, stability and safety all in one vehicle is most rare and my Statesman has it all,” Mr Michael said.

“It has never given me any trouble through the years I have owned it.”

Upgrades to his car have included replacing 16 inch factor alloy mags with 18 inch.

Mr Michael said this was because of the weight on the car plus our unfavourable road conditions.

“The lights also have been upgraded to HID lights and the rest is pretty standard,” he said.

Mr Michael feels VIP cars are no meant to be over decorated as they kill the bliss of the executive looks.

“I’ve had this car for a good six years and it took me stage by stage to work as parts are not available locally even within the local dealers and so it all depends on overseas suppliers,” he said.

The car has even been tested at the tracks at the Nanuku Aerodrome in Pacific Harbour.

Mr Michael said he finished with the timing in the 17 seconds category because of the standard set-up.

“It’s an executive car for cruising so I keep it that way,” he said.
