Bus Boss Happy With PM’s Comments

A bus operator in the Central-Eastern division is backing the Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama’s move to fix rural roads.
Lodoni Transport Limited director Naresh Ravindra thanked Mr Bainimarama for his recent comment regarding the Fiji Roads Authority and its work on our roads.
“I have been complaining to FRA but there was no response from them,” Mr Ravindra said.
“I am very happy with the Government for helping rural people and upgrading rural roads.”
The Lodoni Transport bus operates in parts of the Tailevu North route.
Mr Ravindra hopes the FRA could take the complaints seriously and improve on the road condition soon.
Minister for Local Government, Housing and Environment, Infrastructure and Transport Parveen Kumar said he was also concerned about the conditions of the rural roads.
He said Government was doing so much for education but if children did not reach school on time, then there was no point.
“I think we have to relook at the entire operations of FRA as the Prime Minister said he would like to see all the children reach school,” Mr Kumar said.
“I am fortunate to be with the PM’s tour team and we can see for ourselves that the roads are not in accessible condition and needs urgent repair and maintenance,” he said.
He said after the tour, a meeting would be called with the FRA board and management.
