SOLID START

The Vodafone Fijian 7s team will play United States in the fourth Cup quarterfinal of the Wellington 7s at 1:08pm today.
The Ben Ryan-coached side topped Pool B after defeating Japan 45-7, Wales 33-7 and Argentina 31-10.
Savenaca Rawaca is the top try-scorer in the 2015-16 series with 14 while Vatemo Ravouvou is top points scorer with 146 pts.
Ryan was impressed with the performance.
“The boys were good, we had a quite week. It hadn’t been really like a tournament week for us. I was really unsure how they will come out.
“I’m pleased with them. It’s good we have got the first round out of the way; it was good to get up to the mark early.”
Team captain Osea Kolinisau attributed their performance to the sacrifice during the festive season,
“It’s our work we’ve been doing during the festive season,” Kolinisau said.
“We know it’s going to be tough because every team in the series is competitive.”
Fiji rounded up Day One with a 31-10 win against Argentina.
Rawaca, Vatemo Ravouvou and Sevuloni Mocenacagi scored.
