Suva coach Gurjit Singh says they will have an advantage over Nadi in the first leg of the Pillay Garments Champion versus Champion on Friday at the ANZ Stadium.

With the return of the Vodafone Fijian Under-23 side from Spain today, Singh is happy to have eight of his players back in their first important game of the season.

“It is good Fiji Football Association agreed to reschedule the match so that we could have our U23 reps playing for us,” Singh said.

“I think we will have the upper hand in that game.

“They have had really good exposure and no doubt gained a lot of experience and that will be beneficial to us because of what the other players can learn.”

The team started training two weeks ago in and will be joined by the U23 reps on Wednesday.

“The players will have a good rest before they join the team on Wednesday,” Singh said.

Suva takes on Nadi on Friday at 7pm at the ANZ Stadium. The second leg of the Pillay Garments Champion versus Champion will be on January 7 at Prince Charles Park in Nadi at 3pm.
