The Newly-elected Northland Tailevu Football Association president Rajendra Prasad will be focused on improving the communication between the board and the clubs.

This came after the association had their annual general meeting (AGM) at Deepwater, Tailevu yesterday.

The three newly-elected vice-presidents are Pundit Durga Prasad, Anil Singh and Resham Singh with Nilesh Bhan and Kritesh Prasad retaining their posts.

The new patron is Gaya Prasad and vice-patron is Surendra Prasad.

“The first thing I intend to do is to tidy up the paperwork and to get communication flowing between the officials and clubs,” Prasad said.

“In order to run a successful association we need to do so through proper management and we need to listen to the clubs.

“At the moment there is no communication with the clubs.

“There were no regular meetings and most of the time clubs were left in the dark. So now that there are new reps in the committee, we intend to change all that and involve everybody.

“Transparency is really important and we can’t expect positive results from the clubs if we do not clean up our house first.”

With the Rewa Galaxy Premier National League starting on February 21, Prasad said they would be holding a knockout tournament on February 14 to make sure they picked the best players.

“There will be six teams that will be taking part including Victory Sports, Hurricane Sports, Waidalice, Lionz and the Youth team.”
