Further Remand For Woman  Accused Of Biting Off Man’s Tongue

The woman who allegedly bit off half the tongue of a man in Lautoka last Thursday, appeared in the Ba Magistrates Court yesterday charged with one count of act with intent to cause grievous harm.

Luisa Lowame, 40, was further remanded in Police custody after a request from prosecutor Inspector Sachida Nadan was granted by Magistrate Mosese Naivalu.

The court heard that the victim was in critical condition and was still admitted at the Intensive Care Unit at the Lautoka Hospital.

It is alleged that the incident took place after a fight broke out between the two during a drinking party last Thursday.

The case to be recalled on February 15.
