The tenancy interest shown in Fiji National Provident Fund’s Greig Street Mall in Suva City has been very encouraging, the fund has highlighted.

This came as another well-known brand name signed up to lease a space at the newest mall set to become a part of the capital city’s shopping experience.

World renowned sports apparel company, BLK Sports Fiji, signed their lease agreement the past week. With its cutting edge apparel and creative designs,

BLK was the apparel sponsor for a majority of the world top teams in the 2015 Rugby World Cup.

BLK’s new retail shop with a larger floor space than their existing Suva shop will offer a larger, exciting range to Suva’s sporting shoppers. In Fiji, everyone can associate with the brand “BLK” being the official sponsors of the Fiji Rugby competition wear.

Meanwhile, one of the leading supermarket chains, NEWWORLD IGA, was signed on late last year as the anchor tenant for the new mall.

FNPF chief operating officer, Jaoji Koroi, said: “These are two leading brands and Suva shoppers can look forward to more quality names to add to the list of retailers for the new mall.”

The mall will officially open mid this year.

“The interest shown in the new development is very encouraging and we are still talking to new tenants interested in taking space. Construction is on schedule,” Mr Koroi said.

He said the fund was proud to be part of BLK’s journey to change the experience of sports enthusiasts, young athletes and to promote BLK’s Fiji Made sports merchandise.

About the development

The FNPF had a budget of $14 million for the construction of the brand new property currently under construction.

It is adjacent to FNPF Plaza & Downtown Boulevard Center, a fully occupied retail and Offices center.

The design contains two floors mixed commercial complex and includes integration with the existing FNPF Boulevard Plaza offering better commercial and retail experience.

FNPF is one of the largest property owners in Suva with sizeable returns for members.
