The newly-elected headboy and headgirl of Deenbhandhoo Memorial School in Toganivalu Street, Suva say they are proud of their school.

This was after their class prefects, school prefects, the headboy, headgirl and their deputies were inducted by the chief guest, Superintendent of Police Meli Sateki, of the Totogo Police Station yesterday.

Rudr Prasad, the headboy, who is the national champion for chess in the junior category, feels very proud at being named headboy.

“I feel very proud because this is a good school and the junior school for Jai Narayan College which is the best school in Suva,” Rudr said.

Marica Kuru, who was awarded the best prefect for 2015 for her leadership skills, was appointed the headgirl for 2016.

“I feel proud because it is one of the most famous schools in Fiji and not being a deputy headgirl but suddenly being appointed the headgirl it really gives me a good feeling and I would like to thank my parents for the lessons taught at home,” Marica said.
