MORE APPLICATIONS FOR WIB THIS YEAR

The Westpac-sponsored Women in Business Awards 2016 has gained a lot of momentum.
WIB president Dr Nur Bano Ali said, “I am pleased with the response. Its being amazing, great applications and the number
is increasing more than last year.”
“Over the years we have seen a growing number of women participating in commerce and see a growing number of women
positions.”
She said the objective was to encourage women participation in commerce to attain higher position in their organization,
especially in leadership position.
“It is once again the business awards time and the application is open and we are doing roadshows and workshops around the country to rally the application in byMonday.
“We have achievements to a point of a lot of executive women and a lot of managers. That is what we need now of having them at the
helm,” Dr Ali said.
“Women have equal talent and equal ability and have been under represented. We need to correct that and need to focus women as the
same ability hold by the man.”
Meanwhile, “Speed networking” promoting the Annual Business Awards Women in Business invited all women in business and commerce in Nadi at the Local Bar and Restaurant in Martintar, Nadi last Friday night.

The WIB awards celebrate and recognise women who have demonstrated excellence and leadership in their business or profession
and in their service to the community.
Categories are: Business Woman of the Year, Executive Woman of the Year, Manager of the Year and Aspiring Entrepreneur of the Year.
Meanwhile, applications for the WIB Awards close tomorrow, Monday February 8.
