Police have laid additional charges against the six Chinese nationals who are allegedly involved in the ATM scam in Lautoka last year.

The accused persons; Sanlin Xie, Chanbao Xie, Li Chinling, Zong Chenhua, Weiqiang Liu and Yanyan Yang, appeared before Magistrate Raramasi Salakubou at the Lautoka Magistrates Court yesterday.

The court was informed that the accused were facing four counts of theft and four counts of dishonestly obtaining or dealing in personal financial information before, but will now face 10 counts of each.

Police Prosecutor ASP Anil Prasad filed an application for Police officers to stand near the court box because the accused were a bit rowdy.

The additional charges were read out to the six accused and plea had been taken.

Magistrate Salakubou ruled for the accused persons to be futher  remanded for 14 days and for the matter to be heard on February 22 at the Lautoka Magistrates Court for mention.
