Deputy Headgirls Ready For Duty

Prefect Timaima Cama aims to fulfil her duties after she was inducted along with 69 other prefects at Ballantine Memorial School inducted yesterday.

She was inducted as deputy headgirl for boarders.

“I entered Ballantine with a will to learn. The idea of leading the school or to become one of the future leaders of the school never crossed my mind,” she said.

“I thank the teachers for trusting me and God for His guidance and my mother for her love and support.”

She added that she would do her best to fulfil her duties.

Timaima, the third of five siblings is originally from Dravuwalu Village, Totoya in Lau and lives with her brother at Qauia Village.

She hopes to pursue a career as a secondary school teacher in the future.

 

Erasito dreams big

Vaciseva Erasito, 17, could not hold back her tears as she remembered entering Ballantine Memorial School, four years ago.

“It felt like yesterday when I entered the school and as I stand here being the deputy headgirl for day scholars gives me a great privilege. And I would like  to thank the Lord Almighty for bringing me this far,” she said.

She is from Malahaha in Rotuma, but lives in Suvavou Village with her family. She was also the school’s FSLC topper last year. Vaciseva wants to pursue a career in the medical field.
