Nadi and Suva have an added edge of winning the first round of the Vodafone Premier League 2016 which starts this weekend.

This was after the two districts played two games last weekend in the 2015 Pillay Garments Champion Versus Champion Series eventually won by Nadi.

Nadi hosts Nadroga 3pm on Sunday at Prince Charles Park.

One of the feature matches of the round is the southern derby clash between Suva and Rewa on Sunday at 3pm.

The clash of the western giants Ba and Lautoka will be the feature match on Saturday 3pm at Govind Park.

Newcomer to the league, Dreketi plays Labasa 1.30pm  at Subrail Park on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Fiji Football vice president Tarunesh Reddy congratulated Suva and Nadi for kicking off the season with good performances in the 2015 Pillay Garments Champion vs Champion Series

“And for Suva, there is always a second time but I must congratulate then for the gallant performance.”

Ba have been the winning the CVC since 1994 and only misses out this year but has booked a spot in next year’s series after winning the 2015 Courts Inter-District Championship.
