The Vodafone Fijian Futsal side suffered their third straight loss to Tahiti after being walloped 1-9 at the Vodafone Arena last night.

The Intiaz Khan coached side failed to control possessions as the French Polynesian delivered their best performance which only kept the Fijians silent in both halves.

“Personally I am proud of my team performances we defended well, I think the people need to realise that this is something new for us.

“We did talk before the game and we we’re expecting this, so we considered six goals for our power play and its something that we want to work on.  In general play we were their in defend and not to be hammered by to many goals, but I think it’s a success for us and I am happy for the way the game progressed,” Khan said.

The Tahitians led 3-0 at half time as Tamanui Turihono, Anderson Tino and Tane Tave scored a goal each. Teivarii Kaiha, Anderson Tino, Tave, Smith Tino, Heimana Faarahia and Steeve Wong scored a goal each in the second half to finish off with a 9-0 win.

The Fijians managed to score their lone goal through Mira Sahib in the second half.
