Qiliho Happy With Extension Of His Term

The Acting Commissioner of Police, Brigadier-General Sitiveni Qiliho is happy that his term has been extended. He thanked the members of Constitutional Offices Commission for the confidence and faith they had in him.
A release from the Department of Information said – “His Excellency the President of the Republic of Fiji, acting on the advice of the Constitutional Offices Commission, has extended the appointment of Brigadier-General Sitiveni Tukaituraga Qiliho as the acting Commissioner of the Fiji Police Force until such time when a substantive appointment is made to the position of the Commissioner of the Fiji Police Force.”
Brigadier-General Qiliho said he would like to finish what he had started since his appointment.
The Constitutional Offices Commission advertised the vacancy of position of the Commissioner of the Fiji Police Force in December 2015.
Applications for the vacancy (as advertised) closed on January 29, 2016 and are currently being processed by the Constitutional Offices Commission so that a substantive appointment can be made.
