The Permanent Secretary for Education, Iowane Ponipate Tiko emphasised the importance of what type of leaders the Saraswati College students are planning to be.

58 prefects including the syndicate president, senior prefects, year prefects, library monitors, the headboy, headgirl, deputies and their assistance were inducted at their school hall in Nausori.

The Permanent Secretary focused on the three types of leaders which are the: “Come on leader, go on leaders and the follow me leaders.” He stressed to the school prefects the significance of their position as role models.

He reminded them of the expectations of school teachers and students in demonstrating the school values in their daily lives as prefects and heads.

The headboy Aseri Sokiveta and the headgirl Jaya Chetty honoured the presence of the chief guest and stressed their responsibilities in following the school motto and upholding their duties with the rest of the prefects.

“We will uphold our prefects pledge, the school mission, vision and the theme for this year. Excellence in all facets of our lives” so that we better ourselves and achieve our set goals for this year and perform in all angles in our lives to expectations,” Aseri and Jaya both said in the vote of thanks.
