A-G Explains New Mission In Ethiopia

Our mission in South Africa was moved to Ethiopia because the Head Office of the African Union is based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
This was clarified by the Attorney-General, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum while responding to Opposition Whip, Ratu Isoa Tikoca yesterday.
Ratu Isoa had questioned the reason for the movement of our mission from South Africa to Ethiopia.
“Ethiopia is an African country and also all the United Nations agencies who work in Africa are based in Addis Ababa and this is why our embassy was moved,” Mr Sayed-Khaiyum said.
“It can liaise directly with all these agencies, it makes sense. It doesn’t have to do with their ethnic group,” he said.
