Lawyer Mark Anthony has filed another application for additional statements of all arresting officers involved in the sedition case for Voir Dire hearing.

Mr Anthony told court that he is waiting for further statements from the Police officers.

Only 43 people of sedition related charges appeared before Justice Aruna Aluthge at the High Court in Lautoka on Wednesday.

All 44 are charged with one count of sedition contrary to section 67 (1) (a) and one count of urging political violence contrary to section 65 (1) (b) of the Crimes Decree 2009 and were represented by Mr Anthony.

The accused include Mosese Tawake, Esa Namure, Jone Fatiaki, Vive Naiyo, Qalita Lomavatu Vakacegu, Inoke Navunilagi, Viliame Nasau, Tomasi Madigibuli, Mitieli Raituku, Vosavosa Tunakoro, Maciu Uto, Fonomanu Moresio, Temesia Waqa, Sevanaia Qaravalu, Matereti Vunisa, Salimoni Serau, Penasio Luqa, Joseva Caucau, Isireli Serewai, Rokua Duatani, Filimoni Naloga, Ilaitia Korolala, Semi Uqeuqe, Meli Nasalasala, Marika Qalo, Manueli Nadukula, Tevita Damudamu, Jese Vatusumu, Isaia Raegu Driu, Samuela Nabenia, Viliame Baravilala, Sanila Maliqama, Jolame Turagabeci, Timoci Nacolatabisa, Apenisa Tucaketale Saqanarere, Apimeleki Waicolo, Josua Navaluvou, Timoci Nagata, Pita Gaunimoala, Saimoni Nacolawa, Tomasi Navilamalumu, Livai Talemaicakaudrove and Peceli Nayadra.

The lawyers will apply for the remand extension on February 24 for accused Vetaia Dale, who has been charged for another offence in Tavua. Justice Arun Aluthge rule for the matter to be called on March 16.
