Maciu Dunadamu and Sakaraia Naisua have been dropped from the Suva squad ahead of the first round of the Vodafone Premier League tomorrow at Ratu Cakobau Park, Nausori.

Coach Gurjit Singh is not taking any nonsense from his players who do not turn up for training.

“Maciu (Dunadamu) and Sakaraia (Naisua) will not be in the team because they have not been attending training constantly,” Singh said.

“One of the reasons why we did not have a good performance in the Pillay Garments Champion vs Champion Series was because the team did not train together.

“Training together is important because that is where we form our combinations and where we see who is fit to play and who isn’t.

“And now that our U23 players are back and the team is together, there is no excuse, we need a good start in the Vodafone Premier League and players need to know that.

“I’ve two new players I want to try out and see what they can add to the team, so they have a chance to prove themselves on Sunday.

“We need to give some of the players a rest and try new things, so that is what we will be doing.”
