Nasinu Secondary School defeated newcomers Queen Victoria School 15-12 in the Vodafone Fiji Secondary Schools Rugby League competition yesterday.

FSSRL president Iosefo Volau was happy with the performance of the teams in the first round at St Marcellin Primary School in Suva.

“I am very impressed with the performance of the teams, in particular the schools from the rural areas,” Volau said.

“I am really happy that we started the tournament and I really look forward to the tournament next week in the western division.

“The new teams have lifted the competition to a new level.
