Sheraton Tokoriki Resort and Spa, in the Mamanuca group, has been enjoying 100 percent occupancy during the Chinese New Year celebration.

Resort Manager Peter Elakis said, “We are fully booked and ranging from very high occupancy to be fully booked depending on the day of the week during the period of the Chinese New Year.

“It’s been a very good Chinese New Year for us so far.

“At this certain time of the year, it’s a feature destination for our Chinese guests.

“We have made special arrangements so we are focused more into Chinese cuisine, Chinese New Year eve buffet, have translated our menu and made special welcome packs.”

He said that 2016 is shaping up for the Starwood Hotels and Resorts property.

The group is managed by P. Meghji and Company Limited of Lautoka.

“Once again, there has been increase in occupancy and as the group popularity of the resort grows.

“Our average rate is something we are focusing on since the resort is a prestige property in this location.”

The Resort on Tokoriki Island opened its doors in June, 2014 and will be celebrating its second anniversary this year.

“The resort is growing all the time as we are improving on our facilities, our business base is growing,” he said.

“We are growing both in occupancy as well as average rate as well. The Resort caters for different types of market and not only the families.”

It has 101 rooms and 70 accommodation units for the family side. 30 units are called retreats which have ocean view or ocean front with plunge pool each.
