Inspector Atunaisa Sokomuri has resigned from the Fiji Police Force.

He told the Fiji Sun yesterday the time has finally come for him to move on after eight years of service with the Fiji Police Force as public relations officer.

Inspector Sokomuri said he would finish off from his current employer at the end of the month.

“I’m starting with the Fiji Corrections Service (FSC) on the 1st of March,” he said.

The Acting Commissioner FCS, Kameli Ratuvakalevulevu, told the Fiji Sun yesterday that Inspector Sokomuri would start with them on the 1st of March.

“He will be in charge of our public relations,” he said.

Mr Sokomuri who has been in the media industry for many years before joining public relations, said: “I know it will be challenging but I’m prepared to lift the public relations of the institution.”

He thanked the Acting Commissioner of Police, Brigadier-General Sitiveni Qiliho and senior Police officers for their support.

Inspector Sokomuri hails from Qelekuro in Tailevu North and is currently on leave.
