‘Time Management Important’

Leaders must have good time management, must be dedicated and committed, says Swami Vivekananda College headboy Avineet Singh.
He made the comment during the prefects induction for his Nadi-based school.
“I believe I have to manage my time wisely and be dedicated and committed to the role of being the headboy,” he said.
The school inducted 115 prefects. Headgirl Arieta Boseiwaqa.
“Although I have been a prefect from past years, I did not dream that one day I would be the headgirl of the school,” Arieta said.
“I am proud and honoured to be chosen, and thank God for this provision.”
The chief guest was senior education officer Lautoka – Yasawa, Joseva Gavidi.
“The leader is one who knows the way, goes the way and shows the way,” he told the students.
“Before you can show somebody the way, you must know the way first. In your capacity as a perfect for Swami Vivekanda College, you have to know what it means to be a prefect.
“A good leader takes a little more than his share of the blame and a little less of his share of the credit. You will be working behind the scene a lot, don’t worry, but continue to work hard.
“You may not be seen, but your effort at work is what we will see,” Mr Gavidi said.
“Leadership and learning are in displaceable to each other. They go together. As a leader it does not mean we know everything; leaders also have to learn to listen.”
