Sixteen clubs have so far registered with the revived Nasinu Rugby Union.

The 16 clubs are Newtown, Uluinakau, Davuilevu, Nakasi, Senicevuga Damu, Saioni, Tacirua East, Tacirua Rugby Club, Kinoya Koro, Covenant Brothers, Muanikoso, St John Marist Nadera Parish, Nawanawa, Nepani, Bay of Plenty(Valelevu) and Wakanisila.

NRU head of working committee Paula Biu said the 16 clubs need to submit all required documents to be officially affiliated.

“Only three clubs Newtown, Uluinakau and Davuilevu conducted their annual general meeting and submitted all the required paper work to the committee.

“We are now waiting for the rest of the 13 clubs to do the same before the AGM on Saturday,” Biu said.

“Only the clubs that will submit all require documents will be eligible to vote during the AGM.”

Biu said youths in the Nasinu area have been playing both rugby and rugby league. But there were a lot of youths who have been left out and engage themselves into criminal activities.

“We want to engage these youths and involve them in rugby.”
