Good Start For Nadi

Nadi 2: (Tabucava 70’, Qasevakatini 81’), Nadroga: 0
Defending champions Nadi started their 2016 Vodafone Premier League campaign with 2-0 victory over Nadroga at Prince Charles Park yesterday.
What happened: In the first half the Kamal Swamy-coached Nadi side failed to score simply because they couldn’t break through the Nadroga defence.
But super sub Waisake Tabucava made the difference when he took the field in the 57th minute and broke the deadlock 13 minutes later.
In the 81st minute Napolioni Qasevakatini extended the lead.
Supported by a good crowd, the jetsetters ultimately proved to be the team to beat this season.
Big Play: Qasevakaini lived up to his name as the top marksman for Nadi.
Star Turn: Setareki Delana and Joeli Navalawa played well for the Stallions.
Comments: Nadi coach Kamal Swamy:
“We knew in the last 20 minutes Nadroga will feel the pressure and that’s why we send in impact players early. We got three points and it is a good result.”
Nadroga coach Ramesh Sharma said;
“We did not take our chances in the first half. I think we should have scored three goals. Nadi came back strongly in the second half and they deserved to win.”
