Prefects Ready For Duty

Rakiraki Public High School head prefects Divnesh Reddy and Archana Shivani believe they have the capability to be good school leaders.
They were part of 65 prefects who were inducted yesterday by the Ministry of Education’s director Secondary Schools, Timoci Bure.
“I believe I can lead as a student leader and I will use this opportunity to learn more leadership skills,” Divnesh said.
“This will help me in the future because I want to be a leader serving my community.”
Shivani, on the other hand, was excited about the appointment.
“I will uphold the mission and vision of the school,” she said.
“It is an honour to be part of the student council and to lead the school. I will work very close with the teachers.
“My parents are very proud of me being chosen as the headgirl and I will not to let them down.”
Mr Bure urged the student council to lead by example.
“The student Council must lead by example and collectively you can make a difference by improving discipline in the school,” he said.
“You must give the teachers the assurance that they have chosen the right people.”
