The MV Lomaiviti Prinbcess prepares to berth at Port Mua-i-Walu Port in Suva.

The MV Lomaiviti Princess III is ready to meet demands from the travelling public, especially for those in the North.

By the end of April, Goundar Shipping Services Limited has confirmed to start servicing the Natovi-Nabouwalu route.

As another option the company is also eyeing to restart the Nabouwalu-Ellington (Rakiraki) service.

Company owner and managing director, George Goundar told Sun Shipping that they would provide competition on this popular route.

“We are ready to start, as soon as the MV Lomaiviti Princess I return from New Zealand,” Mr Goundar said.

He confirmed taking the MV Lomaiviti Princess III on a trip to Levuka last week for a personal run.

“Yes, we did go to Levuka last week on a family run for our ship to be blessed.”

Mr Goundar said they also completed trial runs to both Koro and Gau jetties and successfully berthed there.

“We went on a trial run there to see that if the need is there and we know now that we will be able to accommodate this. The MV Lomaiviti Princess III has already serviced the Suva-Savusavu-Taveuni route, the Suva-Kadavu route with Kadavu being our stronghold at the moment,” Mr Goundar said.

He acknowledged Government’s assistance in supporting people like him return to Fiji to invest in the local economy.
