Tarsealed roads by Fiji Roads Authority
Joji Toronibau, Tunuloa
One writer was requesting for the authority concerned to tarseal their road because it was deteriorating pretty fast.
But I sincerely hope the rural roads for us here in the North will also be in some priority listings, especially the Natewa Bay side of Tunuloa linking Wailevu Primary School and Napuka Catholic Mission Secondary.
We have not enjoyed a road for too long compared to those in the urban and semi-periphery regions. But they are yelling for proper repairs and tarseal roads.
For too long our school children had to walk, wade across rivers and steaming across the seas for a good education and as multiple depressions coming and subsiding.
I pray that our school children will one day walk on proper roads, which is always the best option rather than the sea.
On the same breath, we deservedly need Police presence as well on wheels at times to lessen naughty activities.
Super Rugby live coverage
Avinesh Permal, Suva
It is very sad for die-hard rugby lovers in Fiji. Super Rugby will now be shown live on FBC TV but only two matches per week.
It is surprising because it is the first time this is happening. What happened to Sky Pacific?
Why are they not showing the full 2016 Super Rugby? They have been showing all matches live for many years on Super Channel.
People of Fiji are still keeping high hopes that Sky Pacific will show all 2016 Super Rugby matches live come 26th February, 2016. Requesting Sky Pacific if something can be done about it.
Fiji 7s at its best
Ravneel Sharma, Navua
Ben Ryan’s men did their best at the second leg of World Rugby Sevens Series. They managed to stay at the top of the table with 69 points along with arch rivals South Africa and New Zealand.
Many hearts were broken and several rugby pundits were proven wrong when Fiji fell short at Wellington and Sydney after they bowed out at the Cup semifinals.
As the Rio Olympics is just around the corner, the question that came to mind: Is Fiji heading in the right direction as they prepare for the next leg of World Rugby Sevens Series?
Goodwill and
Premium
Sukha Singh, Labasa
I asked someone at the iTaukei Land Trust Board about the goodwill payment after a lease expires and was told there is no more goodwill payment.
So I asked them if there was an automatic renewal. I was told that I would have to pay a premium.
To the person who is going to pay it doesn’t make any difference whether you call it “Goodwill” or “Premium”.
