Mosese, Shayal Take On Leadership Challenge

Narere Primary School headboy Mosese Seru feels the task ahead is challenging.
“I need to be strict and equal to everyone and not favour any friend; in that way I will set a good example and the students will learn to abide by the school rules and regulations,” Mosese said.
Headgirl Shayal Chand, was excited and privileged to lead the school this year.
“My plans are to have counselling and prefects should supervise their allocated classes when teachers are not around,” Shayal said.
Chief guest Sergeant Naivasi Talemaitoga, the station officer at the Narere Police Community Post, shared some important aspects of leadership for the students and prefects to follow.
“Leaders should be a role model to empower the little ones; should be like a Police officer in school monitoring everyone,” Sergeant Talemaitoga said.
He urged the prefects not to stay quiet on serious issues like glue sniffing and smoking but set a good example to other students by reporting it to the teachers who can take further action.
Headteacher Parma Naidu also shared some leadership thoughts.
“As a leader one should know his or her expectations and should have an exemplary behaviour with a passion to lead and tolerate others,” he said.
