Respect Favours Fazeelah

Gaining the respect of students of Nasinu Muslim College yesterday saw Fazeelah Sheik being appointed as the headgirl.
She also scored the highest mark for the school in the Fiji Year 12 Certificate Examination last year. She gained 371 in English and the best three subjects.
The teachers voted for her, said principal Shaeena Yasin.
“Fazeelah is a student with good manners,” Mr Yasin said.
“She has gained the respect of students and shows discipline in her work and she respects the teachers. These are some of the qualities that the teachers saw in her and agreed to appoint her as the headgirl,” Mr Yasin said.
Fazeelah joined the school last year from Labasa. She said her family migrated to Suva to allow her to get good education.
“I thank the teachers for selecting me to lead this prestigious school. It is my duty to carry out the roles and responsibilities required of me,” Fazeelah said.
Manoj Singh, the deputy divisional Police Commonder (DPC) eastern inducted the school’s 127 prefects which consisted of form monitors, assistant form monitors, college library assistants, college laboratory monitors, college salaat hall monitors, college senior prefects, the headboy, headgirl and their deputies.
“A good leader is one who looks after his subjects well and is able to make good decisions for the good of all and for the betterment of the institute,” Mr Singh said.
