Supervisor of Elections and Registrar of Political Parties Mohammed Saneem is yet to receive the audited accounts of the suspended National Federation Party.

Mr Saneem confirmed that the suspended party had not been in touch with him or his office regarding submitting new accounts.

However, he said: “Richard Naidu, who I understand is representing the suspended party, said they were challenging the suspension in court, but I am yet to be served any papers regarding this.”

Mr Naidu, lawyer for the suspended NFP said, court proceedings were lodged in the High Court in Suva on Monday morning.

“We are awaiting their release so they can be served on the Supervisor of Elections,” Mr Naidu said.

“The papers had not been released by the Court as of Wednesday afternoon.

“We will only know a hearing date when the papers are released.”

The NFP was suspended for 30 days after they had submitted their audited accounts signed by a non-Fiji Institute of Accountants certified accountant.
