Vikatoria And Laisiana Lead In Wainunu, Bua

Adi Vikatoria Ramo was in tears when she was inducted as headgirl of Ratu Luke Memorial School in Wainunu, Bua, yesterday.
The 14-year-old lass originally from Nakawakawa Village in Bua said her appointment would be a legacy left behind.
“Leadership is about influence and influence is a skill that can be developed and I have this skill,” the eldest of four siblings said.
“I am confident to leave behind fond memories and positive influence on my fellow students who would surely in years to come would remember me either by name or my position as a headgirl of Ratu Luke Memorial School.”
Her father is a yaqona farmer while her mother is working at the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption (FICAC) office in Labasa.
Laisiana Turagalevu, 14, who lives at Nabuinikadamu in Bua, said he was surprised when chosen as headboy.
“My dream is to become a Navy officer and with the appointment of the headboy of such a renowned school would be an additional credit on my curriculum vitae,” Laisiana said.
“I have taken an oath to be leader of great respect and a good helper to all my teachers, students and school management to which I will I keep.”
The chief guest was Northern Divisional Police Commander, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shri Bhawan Singh, who emphasised on the importance of leadership.
