Natabua High School athletes were yesterday encouraged to perform better at the 2016 Coca Cola Games.

The comment was made by the Minister for Employment, Productivity and Industrial Relations, Semi Koroilavesau during the opening of the Natabua High School inter-house athletic competition.

“Sports is an integral component in any child’s education as it develops life skills,” Koroilavesau said.

He said sports and extra-curricular activities provided students to build capabilities to do better outside the  classroom.

“Sports help in nation building. The entire nation comes to a standstill when our Vodafone Fijian 7s reps take the field in the World Sevens Series.”

He also mentioned the school’s winning  the Coke Games last year had excited other schools in the West.

“I am sure that your school’s historic achievement in 2015 has brought the whole Western communities together to recognise and celebrate,” he said.

“That positive vibe has encouraged other schools here in Lautoka and the West to participate and be part of the national finals this year therefore, Natabua should continue with the good performances.”
