The Fiji Rugby Women coaching director is confident the former Jasper Williams High School students will deliver in the second round of the Women Sevens Series in Sao Paulo, Brazil this weekend.

“They are doing excellently,” Cracknell said.

“Both individuals are supremely talented and having been in the programme since the end of 2015. They are up to speed with how we want to play and their fitness standards.

“I’m excited to see them hit the field this weekend.”

The Fijian team are grouped with Canada, Australia and Ireland in Pool A.

Canada coach John Tait has laid down the challenge as they aim to bounce back after a disappointing start in Dubai in the first round.

“We’re excited to get back into competition mode,”he said.

“We’ve also had a chance to train with USA at their home base, try out some different tactics against someone other than ourselves.”

Cracknell said the Canadians would aim to get even after they were beaten

The Ana Maria Roqica-captained side had their scrimmaging session with Spain on Wednesday and had their captain’s run yesterday.
