Laisani Moceisawana has a score to settle this year against rival Alesi Finau of Jasper High School in the 2016 Coca-Cola Games in April.

The Adi Cakobau School’s (ACS) intermediate runner will be taking part in the 100 metres, 200 metres and 4×100 metres.

The 17-year-old from Somosomo, Taveuni has been winning gold in her events since the sub-junior grade only to lose to Finau last year.

Moceisawana is stepping up in training and doing all she can in order to ensure she performs to the best of her ability in April.

“It will be tough this year compared to last year because schools are now coming on strong and training hard like never before,” Moceisawana said.

“I did not win gold last year in the 200 metre final but I really want to settle that this year. If I meet Alesi again, it should be a good race.”

Moceisawana said her aim this year is to win gold in her events.

“The fact that it is competitive is a good thing. That means that we have new athletes coming up and they will give students who have always taken part in the Coke Games a run for their money.”
