Timaleti Tabua is hoping to win three gold medals for Adi Cakobau School (ACS) in the 2016 Coca-Cola Games in April.

The 14-year-old won gold in the 200 metres, 400 metres and 4×400 metres during the ACS inter-house held in Sawani yesterday.

Not having a personal trainer has not fazed her as she has worked tirelessly to get where she is today from being a gold medallist in the Chow Games.

“My first choice was St Joseph’s Secondary School but unfortunately I did not get the nod,” Tabua said.

“So I came to ACS and I’ve improved as an athlete with the support from my family and friends.

“My aim is to get three gold medals in all my events and do my school proud. I know the Chow Games is different compared to the Coke Games which is why I am training my hardest.

“I usually go to the ANZ Stadium every Saturday and do my own training and even though I do not have a coach that has not stopped me from doing the best I can.”

Meanwhile, another student looking to stamp her mark at the Coke Games is former Tailevu North College student Elenani Tinai.

The 16-year-old is aiming for gold in the 400 metres, 800 metres and 4×400 metres.

“Being in this school has really helped me a lot and opened me to new possibilities and I want to make everyone proud,” Tinai said.

“ACS got me to come here and I have enjoyed every minute of it, I want to become a good runner and I know that I will achieve that here.

“It will be tough this year but I look forward to the challenge and  will do my best.”
