Like other tourist destinations, Tropical Cyclone Winston did not spare the North’s Hidden Paradise.

One of Koro Sun Resort & Rainforest Spa’s floating bures was washed out about 16kilometres from the resort.

Flooded roads, vehicles stuck in ditches and boats being moved metres away from where they were sheltered were some evident effects of the strongest ever recorded cyclone in Fiji’s history.

Fiji Police Force director of Senior Superintendent Mahesh Mishra said: “Stones from the sea was thrown on the road along Savusavu coastal area.”

He said part of the Savusavu Wharf, which was closed, was washed away.

On the road, Mr Mishra said in some areas, the road was also washed away leaving behind ‘very big damages’.
