Pray For Fiji: Goodall

Vodafone Fijian Bati’s Fabian Goodall, who is yet to debut in the NRL for Manly Sea Eagles, has put his ‘heart on his wrist’.

And put in a storming performance for the Sea Eagles Reserve Grade (NSW Cup – NRL tier two) trial last Saturday.

He dedicated the match to his motherland as Cyclone Winston approached Fiji last Saturday

Branding a ‘Fiji’ wrist band, the hulking centre or winger Goodall played for his country, alongside Bati and fellow Sea Eagles NRL contracted back Brayden Wiliame. He put in an inspired and rampaging performance to score two tries against the Western Suburbs Devils (Illawarra competition).

He was also selected in the Sea Eagles NRL Auckland Nines team, but with the Sea Eagles fielding a very strong NRL trial team against Queensland Cup (NRL tier two competition) champions Ipswich Jets, who fielded former Bati and Jets star Nemani Valekapa.

Goodall stated via his Instagram account “Tonight’s game (is) for the motherland, family and friends, be safe, #prayforfiji”.

The NSW Cup competition is a second tier competition under the NRL that fields a host on NRL contracted players for each reserve grade or feeder clubs, including seven NRL branded clubs (also included NZ Warriors), one NRL controlled team and five independent clubs partnered with NRL clubs. The Fiji NSW Cup Bid led by former Fiji Bati captain Petero Civoniceva is hopeful of joining the NSWRL competition 2017, in playing home games with a fulltime fully Fijian playing squad based out of ANZ Stadium in Suva.
