Jack’s of Fiji gives $100k donation to PM’s disaster relief and rehabilitation fund

Jack’s Group of Companies chairman, Dilip Khatri, has announced to provide $100,000 cash to the Prime Minister’s National Disaster Relief and Rehabilitation Fund.

This amount has already been deposited in the relief fund’s Westpac account.

The company said: “It’s a sad phase for Fiji as the nation has experienced the worst disaster in its history.

“Jack’s of Fiji family is deeply sympathetic to all the families who have lost their loved ones and those who have been displaced from their homes and communities.

“Jack’s of Fiji regards itself fortunate as Nadi, our home base was not severely affected. Our other operations throughout the country also luckily escaped severe damage.

“We had prepared for the worst but have luckily escaped the full brunt of the cyclone. We deeply empathise with and feel for the rest of our people who have been greatly impacted.

“Whilst we are assisting all our affected Jack’s team members, we are also fully committed to providing the necessary support, within our means, to those affected across the country.”

To further support the Fijian Government’s initiative to provide relief and assistance to the cyclone victims, Jack’s of Fiji is closely working with the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism.

Apart from the cash contribution, they are also preparing new clothes parcels valued at approximately $100,000.

Jack’s team members have already been mobilised in the Western Division to assess the situation to substantiate the need of the people.

Jack’s of Fiji team members will then personally distribute these packages to the affected communities.
