Crusaders’ Nemani Nadolo and Highlanders wing Waisake Naholo will be playing their first match of the Super Rugby season with heavy hearts as their thoughts will be with their fellow Fijians who are trying to get their lives back to normal.

This was after TC Winston ripped through the country over the weekend.

The Highlanders play the Blues in Auckland at 5.35pm tonight while the Crusaders host the Chiefs in Christchurch tomorrow.

While the West, North and outer islands experienced the brunt of TC Winston, Queen Victoria School in Tailevu was one of the most severely-damaged schools in the central division.

With pictures of the battered building and a student sleeping on a table, Nadolo felt the pain of what many might have been going through as he took to Facebook to express his heartbreak.

“Pictures from a school back home in Fiji after cyclone Winston… couldn’t hold back my tears when I saw this,” Nadolo said.

“A student sleeping in what’s left of their school dormitory. My heart, thoughts and prayers go out to the families that have lost their loved ones.

“It’s easy to sit here and just say be strong, I can only imagine what you are all going through as a nation. I do know one thing though and that is that we’re Fijians and Fijians can withstand anything. PHIL 4:13 ‪#‎noquvanua ‪#‎prayforfiji ‪#‎helpless‪#‎tabusoro.”

While pictures of the affected areas continue to show up in numbers on social media, it was too much Naholo to comprehend as he took to his Tweeter page.

“Just can’t look at the pictures anymore. Really feel for those that have lost their loved ones and their homes. God Bless Fiji.”

Countless numbers of Fijians who live abroad are expressing their sadness and support for the people of Fiji through social media to let everyone know they are not alone.
